We are currently seeking a Combat System Engineer at the Washington, DC Office. Combat Systems Engineer 100% allocated toward support of the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Germany F-127 Frigate Programs. Serving as a direct report to the Germany Combat Systems Engineer (CSE), this function primarily serves as the day-to-day support of the USG Germany Team within PEO IWS 4.0 and will cover several aspects of acquisition and technical support of the Germany Computer Program and supporting hardware.  

Functional Description: 

Within that team, the selected candidate will work with fellow teammates to support the CSE and the work distribution will be coordinated across the Engineering team based on your and your colleague’s strengths. Some examples of taskings will range from supporting the Systems Engineering process by attending and aiding in technical discussions about integration and test of our systems, review of technical deliverables and documentation, coordination of Action Items and responses for Requests for Information, Risk Management coordination, Schedules analysis, and development and maintenance of Plans and Procedures.

Between the complex nature of this program, its systems being delivered, and the hybrid in-person/remote nature of our team, it’s as important as ever to remain organized via Microsoft (MS) Office Suite tools for our daily tasks such as arranging and executing meetings, communicating both within and outside of our Germany team, and keeping the Germany Team’s Data Library current and relevant.

The job will require both CONUS and OCONUS travel at 3-4x a year.

Contracts

  • Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) Delivery Reviews for CSE-related items
  • CDRL Tracking and follow-up with review from other team functional areas such as SI&T, Logistics, Tech Rep, etc.
  • Draft Monthly Contract Officer Representative (COR) Reports for COR sign off
  • Review Invoices and flag any discrepancies to COR
  • Proactively coordinate CPARS reviews with gov personnel and setup IPAR syncs with industry on Quarterly basis
  • Review or draft TI statements of work prior to COR review/signature
  • Work with Financial team to ensure funding is ready to be placed on contract when needed
  • Systems Engineer
  • Learn F-127 schedule and understand relationships of milestones to their dependencies
  • Learn, then understand System Security, ITAR, Releasability Guidelines
  • Learn, then understand T&E needed to support IAFCL T&E schedule with Ship Testing schedule alignment

Risk Management

  • Consolidate and ensure risks are up-to-date
  • Provide input on risk writing and wording
  • Schedule Monthly Risk Reviews at industry-level for then approach by Technical Director
  • Action Item and Planner Tracking
  • Update Action Item Power App tool with CSE status
  • Track Planner tool tasking and deadlines

Basic Expectation:

  • Ability to independently work on tasks/efforts
  • Grow to be able to step in for Gov CSE when needed to tag-team tasking especially when one person is out
  • Knowledge of Aegis/ICS Software and/or hardware design and capabilities
  • Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid development methodologies and associated milestones/reviews
  • Can explain the OODA Loop
  • Requirements analysis and A-Spec development
  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Knows/can explain the difference between TCP and UDP
  • Integrated master Schedule (IMS) development (MS Project a plus)
  • Some knowledge of acquisition process up process.

Required Education:
Bachelor’s in engineering or STEM degree.

Required Experience:

Seven (7) years’ work experience required 

This role requires in-person support.

Must hold and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $86,190.40- $142,00.00 NTE annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems’ total compensation package.
