Lead Designer - Basketball Apparel Color (Contract)
Location: Beaverton, OR (Hybrid - 4 days onsite)
Duration: ~6 months (extension possible, not guaranteed)
About the Role
We're looking for a highly creative and detail-oriented Lead Designer, Color to help shape seasonal direction for basketball apparel. In this role, you'll bring color to life through compelling storytelling, trend-driven design, and strong collaboration across product, design, and development teams. This is a hands-on creative role where you'll influence product from concept through execution.
What You'll Do
  • Develop seasonal color palettes and narratives for basketball apparel collections
  • Translate consumer insights and cultural trends into impactful design stories
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to execute design vision from concept to prototype
  • Create and deliver high-quality presentations to internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to concept development, schematic reviews, and product refinement
  • Support multiple projects while maintaining a high level of creativity and precision

What We're Looking For
  • 3-6+ years of experience in color design, apparel design, or related field
  • Strong portfolio showcasing color theory, storytelling, and product application
  • Expertise in Adobe Illustrator and proficiency in Photoshop
  • Experience with tools like CLO 3D, Vizcom, and Miro
  • Solid understanding of textiles, materials, and apparel construction
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
