Job description

Job Title: Lab Technician - Color Matching Location: Shakopee, MN Type: Contract Compensation: $22.00 Work Model: Onsite – onsite Hours: 8 AM- 4:30 PM M-F Responsibilities

  • Develop color formulas for all high-performance water-based coatings and EIFS finishes using color matching software.
  • Apply finished color matches to 8” x 8” substrate boards for customer samples per request.
  • Accurately transfer product from 5-gallon pails into quart containers.
  • Perform routine checks on automatic pigment dispensers and calibrate lab equipment as needed.
  • Aid in the investigation of color-related complaints.
  • Safely lift, carry, and maneuver 5-gallon pails weighing up to 65 pounds following all safety procedures.
  • Label and package customer samples for shipment, double-checking all samples for accuracy prior to dispatch.
  • Follow all quality initiatives and ISO standards, procedures, and processes relevant to the role.
  • Maintain professionalism and deliver accurate, timely service to internal and external customers.
  • Follow all established safety procedures and use provided PPE.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in coatings, painting, manufacturing, laboratory, or related environment preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of pigments and color theory is helpful.
  • Ability to visibly distinguish colors; cannot be color blind.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • General computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
