This internship offers hands-on opportunities to work on real projects while further developing your design skills in a professional environment.ย 

About the Roleย 

As a Graphic Design Intern, you'llย work directlyย with ourย Head of External Affairs and CEOย toย help us think through our existing visual identify and how we present ourselves to our audiences, stress-test what's working and what's not, advocate for necessary and impactful design changes that push our identity forward, andย develop compelling visualย products across multiple platformsย that better reflect our identity and scale as we growย as aย business.ย 

What You'll Doย 

You'llย design andย iterate onย brand identity elements including logos, color palettes, typography systems, and visual guidelines.ย You'llย create marketing materials such as social media graphics, presentations, print collateral, and digital assets that align with established brand standards.ย You'llย assistย in developing mood boards, design concepts, and presentations for client or stakeholder meetings.ย You'llย also helpย maintainย and organize our digital asset library and contribute to team brainstorming sessions and creative critiques.ย 

What We're Looking Forย 

You should haveย demonstratedย experience developing branding and visual identity projects, whether through coursework, freelance work, orย previousย internships. Expert-levelย proficiencyย in theย Adobe Creative Cloudย suite of productsย is essential, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop,ย Lightroom, andย InDesign, as well asย experience in generative AI tools and workflows (eg.ย Midjourney, Magic Studio,ย Firefly).ย Familiarity withย additionalย Adobe toolsย like Premiere and After Effectsย is a plus. You should have a strong portfolioย showcasingย your branding work and visual identity projects, with a keen eye for typography, color theory, and composition.ย We'reย looking for someone who can work both independently and collaboratively, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and communicate designย concepts clearly. You should be receptive to feedback and eager to learn and grow as a designer.ย 

Logistics

  • Immediate availability.ย 
  • This is a paid, part-time positionย with no set end date. Duration will beย based on the balance of ourย continuedย business needs andย yourย availabilityย and goals.
  • 1-2 days per week expected during the semester, with the opportunity to expand toย additionalย hoursย duringย the summer asย needed.
  • In-office workย requirement. Duties will be performed atย Realtaย Fusion offices in Madison, WI.ย
