Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Color Matching Specialist with fluency in both English and Spanish to join our growing marketing team. This key role is essential in managing incoming requests for color samples from architects, designers and general contractors to provide the best option for each project.

The Color Matching Specialist is responsible for communicating with customers to understand each request and identify the best color match from our extensive color library. You must have an excellent eye for colors to select the closest matching option for each sample.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, and feel comfortable communicating with high-value customers such as architects, designers, engineers, and contractors. Must be very organized with records, disciplined in the execution of follow-ups, and able to coordinate multiple sample requests at the same time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and review sample requests from customers, architects, designers, and internal teams.
  • Identify and catalog requested colors, textures, materials, finishes, and project requirements.
  • Research and identify the closest available match from our extensive color library.
  • Explain characteristics and limitations of color matches clearly and professionally.
  • Prepare and coordinate physical samples using our in-house equipment and software.
  • Communicate by email and participate in remote meetings with customers, architects, designers, and internal personnel.
  • Track sample requests diligently, monitor project information, customer communications, production status, and track completed samples.
  • Maintain accurate digital and physical records of all sample requests and related correspondence.
  • Follow up on outstanding requests and communicate status updates to customers and architects.
  • Help maintain the sample library and reference system properly organized.
  • Ensure that sample requests are processed in a timely fashion according to company procedures and quality standards.
  • Manage multiple requests and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable speaking with customers, architects, designers, and production personnel.
  • Good computer skills, including email, document management, and basic office software.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when comparing colors, textures, finishes, and specifications.
  • Ability to understand instructions and translate customer requests into clear internal production requests.
  • Ability to participate professionally in virtual meetings.
  • Strong follow-up and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience with architectural finishes, coatings, materials, manufacturing, samples, or a related industry is a plus.
