JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the clinical and clerical responsibilities related to quality specimen collection of various types (blood, urine, etc.) need to perform diagnostic testing and appropriately get results back to ordering providers, all while delivering an exceptional customer service experience for all lab patients. Lab Assistant will ensure specimen is appropriately received and prepared for processing. 

Individual is responsible for providing optimal customer service, assisting with any physical challenges related to patient needs, including drawing blood, educating patients on proper specimen collection (for specimens such as urine, stool, etc.), appropriately receiving, labeling, and preparing specimen. Serve as resource to patients to answer any questions about testing needs, or specimen collection

Individual will appropriately identify patient using demographics and ensure appropriate order is obtain from provider, to ensure accuracy and timeliness of test results to ordering provider.

Position may be responsible for performing phlebotomy at a variety of locations within the Blessing Health System.
 
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training/Experience:
REQUIRED:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED:
  • Computer experience
  • Previous patient care experience
PAY STATUS
  • Non-exempt hourly
