Title: Lab Technician
Location: Bensenville, IL
Hire Type: Contract
Pay: $24/hr.

Our client is seeking a mechanically inclined Lab Technician to support product testing and validation within a manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role that involves operating lifting equipment, setting up test fixtures, assembling components, recording test data, and assisting the engineering team with product evaluations. This position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys working with tools and equipment.

Job Duties:
  • Set up parts and test fixtures for product testing.
  • Operate JIB cranes and other material handling equipment to safely move components.
  • Assemble and disassemble test parts and equipment as needed.
  • Perform mechanical testing and assist with product validation activities.
  • Record test results accurately using Microsoft Excel and other data collection systems.
  • Understand and apply units of measurement while documenting test data.
  • Torque fasteners and perform basic mechanical assembly tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Quality teams to support testing activities.
  • Follow established safety procedures and work instructions.
Qualifications:
  • Previous manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools.
  • Experience operating cranes, forklifts, hoists, or other material handling equipment is a plus.
  • Comfortable performing hands-on assembly and testing.
  • Basic computer skills with experience entering data into Excel.
  • Ability to read measurements and follow written work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to lift, move, and position components safely using appropriate equipment.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
