Position Purpose:
Join the Mercy Care team as a Security Guard, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our staff, patients, and visitors. You will protect individuals and property from potential harm, enforce city, county, state, and federal laws, and uphold SJMCS policies and regulations. Your presence will contribute to a safe and welcoming environment, allowing our mission of compassionate care to thrive.
What You Will Do:
  • Provide security services on SJMCS-owned property, ensuring the safety of all individuals on-site.
  • Protect persons and property from harm and respond to incidents in violation of laws and regulations.
  • Educate staff on security protocols during orientation and annual updates.
  • Assess the needs of clients in parking areas and assist staff with related security concerns.
  • Participate in safety and emergency preparedness committees and take on-call duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience as a Security Officer or in Law Enforcement.
  • 1 year of experience in a customer service role or security position requiring public communication.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows-based computer programs and computer skills.
  • Familiarity with Georgia Criminal Laws and basic hospital safety requirements is a plus.
