Job Description
As a Security Guard Full Time Access Control Patrol in RICHMOND, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government care location, you will conduct routine patrols, monitor assigned areas, support access control, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. What You'll Do:
  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and contractors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government-operated veterans care location.
  • Respond to incidents, resident-related concerns, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, common areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points, verify authorization for visitors and contractors as directed, and maintain awareness of activity throughout the facility.
  • Document observations, incidents, and security-related concerns in clear, accurate reports and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
