Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and direction to civil crews, including labourers, heavy equipment operators, and drivers
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute civil construction activities such as earthworks, grading, excavation, backfill, and material placement
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and schedules
  • Coordinate equipment and manpower requirements to meet daily production targets
  • Conduct daily toolbox meetings, ensuring crews understand work plans and hazards
  • Enforce all project and Ledcor policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
  • Monitor job progress, productivity, and quality of work; address issues as they arise
  • Maintain clear communication with superintendents and construction manager
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, grade stakes, and survey information
  • Assist with training, mentoring, and performance management of crew members
  • Complete required daily reports, timekeeping, and documentation
  • Identify and escalate safety, quality, or schedule concerns in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Previous 3-5 years' experience in a leadership position on a major industrial construction project
  • Effective communication and leadership skills with the ability to direct crews and resolve onsite issues
  • Strong working knowledge of civil construction activities
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
  • Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license and provide a clean 3-year drivers record
  • Completion of project pre-access training requirements

Work Conditions

  • 14 days on, 7 days off, working 10 hour days
  • Overtime rates, RSP contributions and weekly wage payments
