OBJECTIVE

The Junior Designer will support the Floral Manager and Floral Designers across various operational practices. Support will be focused around display and maintenance of floral inventory, as well as the engagement with customers both in-person and over the phone, in order to properly and efficiently communicate orders. In addition, the Junior Designer will participate in the creation of custom retail orders as directed by the Floral Managers.

  • Assist customers with questions and the selection of the floral inventory
  • Utilize knowledge of floral inventory and availability to assist customers in the design and arrangement of unique floral arrangements, offering recommendations and substitution based on customer selections
  • Ensure that all standard floral arrangements are prepared, executed and priced in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with approved company standards
  • Maintain health of floral inventory both on the floor and in the refrigerated storage through the watering, cutting and displaying of flowers
  • Setup displays in accordance with company standards
  • Assist the floral managers and designers in the completion of custom online and over the phone orders as directed
  • Complete other general maintenance tasks on the general floor as required

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

2+ years' experience working in a retail or boutique floral environment required. Experience in the horticultural, floral arrangement, gardening fields or completion of floriculture coursework is preferred. Demonstrated ability to offer excellent customer service skills, phone etiquette and a strong work ethic is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in an active retail store environment. This job may be either indoors or outdoors or both.
