As a Manufacturing Operator, you are responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining select progressive die press machines, auxiliary equipment, saws, assembly tables, specific automated machinery, specific Cadweld / Flashweld / brazing equipment and other miscellaneous manufacturing tooling to safely produce quality products of varying material according to blueprint specifications. nVent expects you to adhere to all safe work procedures and to create parts up to the highest of quality standards.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
  • Sets up and operates heavy-duty power equipment to bend, form, stretch and straighten a variety of products / materials such as plates, extrusions, structural shapes, etc. as specified by blueprints, layout, and templates.

  • Perform duties required to assist setup and operate multiple automatic and/or multi-slide equipment perform simultaneous processes for a variety of products.

  • Ability to understand and work from drawings, order / route sheets, schedules, written, and verbal instructions.

  • Check material for correct size, type, identification, configuration and color.

  • Assist with set-up of dies, movable and stationary equipment, forming blocks, adjust stroke and feed as needed.

  • Competent use micrometers, calipers, scales, tape measures, calculators and fixed gauges to check work in process and ensure adherence to specifications.

  • Move materials in the performance of duties using pallet jack, lift truck or crane (if PIT qualified) as necessary.

  • Install and check safety devices as needed for specific jobs.

  • Report faulty equipment, defective material and unusual conditions to supervisor or other appropriate resources.

  • Observe and adhere to all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or directed, which may require more than the normal shift hours or work week to meet company needs.

YOU HAVE:
  • Strong troubleshooting skills necessary, with the ability to make informed decisions.

  • Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and meet operational deadlines.

  • Must be self-motivated, safety and quality conscious, and work efficiently with minimal supervision.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes

  • Experience following work instructions or reading blueprints

  • Experience using hand and power tools

  • Prior experience working in a light industrial facility preferred

  • Heavy lifting required (up to 50 lbs).

  • Lift truck operator experience recommended.
