Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. About the Senior Network Engineer Position

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing network security infrastructure across Colonial Pipeline Company. This role focuses on safeguarding network environments through firewall administration, identity and access management, and proactive security monitoring. You will partner closely with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to ensure the network remains secure, resilient, and compliant with industry standards.

  • Design, implement, and manage firewall solutions to protect network resources and prevent unauthorized access
  • Develop and optimize firewall policies using platforms such as Cisco Firepower and AlgoSec
  • Administer network access controls using Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
  • Monitor network security systems, identify threats or vulnerabilities, and coordinate response activities with security teams
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support compliance with security policies and industry standards
  • Maintain documentation for firewall rules, network access policies, and security controls
  • Provide networking support leveraging Layer 2/Layer 3 concepts including switching, routing, and VLANs
  • Troubleshoot connectivity and security-related issues across the enterprise network
What You Bring to the Table
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in network security, with a focus on large-scale firewall environments
  • Strong proficiency with network security technologies such as Cisco Firepower, Cisco ISE, and AlgoSec (or similar tools)
  • Solid understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and security best practices
  • Hands-on experience in firewall policy design, network access management, and security monitoring
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10-15% as needed
