The Defense Systems Group (DSG) provides analysis-based decision support to senior leaders on space architectures, policy and strategy, technology development, warfighter capability enablers, systems integration, defense industrial base, and threat reduction to help shape existing and future space missions across the national security space (NSS) enterprise. DSG is unique at Aerospace as it not only directly supports major customers, including the U.S. Space Force, U.S. Space Command, Air Force Materiel Command, and senior leadership at the Pentagon, but also provides a broad range of technical support across the national space enterprise, maintaining vertical responsibilities with customers' portfolios as well as horizontal, matrixed responsibilities across the corporation. Additionally, DSG provides deep technical expertise to the Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC) in the conception, design, acquisition, launch and operations of satellite, launch vehicle, ground control, and range systems. The Aerospace work model includes location of Aerospace personnel in SSC facilities and SSC personnel at Aerospace facilities.
We are seeking a highly motivated, self-starter Project Management Specialist with a customer-service focus to join our team. This role is essential to ensuring smooth business operations for both the Aerospace Space Architecture and Integration (SAID) and Enterprise Ground Division (EGD) for projects related to customer operations.
The customer operations Project Management Specialist will report to SAID General Manager and coordinate with the SAID and EGD customer organizations including the Space Systems Integration Office (SSC/BZ), Battle Management Control and Communications (SSC/BC) and Operational Test and Training Infrastructure (SSC/TI) located on Aerospace facilities. The selected candidate provides collaborative project leadership to ensure effective and efficient operations across multiple Aerospace Divisions and multiple USSF customer organizations. The Project Management Specialist leads the coordination with US Govt customers, their on-site contractors, Aerospace Facilities, Contracts, Finance Managers and Real Estate organizations through the process for collocation and badging of personnel and use of Aerospace facilities in collaboration with program POCs. The coordinator provides periodic information sessions and training on the process to customers and program POCs. The coordinator assists in the planning for hosted events (conferences and workshops) and arranges for periodic facility tours.
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in El Segundo, CA.
What you'll be doing

  • Oversee process for Aerospace Corporate facility use and collocation agreements with Govt customers
  • Collaborate with various USSF/SSC customer program office POCs, Aerospace Contracts, Facilities and Real Estate organizations and Aerospace program office POCs to manage facility use and maintain collocation agreements
  • Maintain databases and work with customer orgs to update capacity reports, collocation agreements and facility maps/office seat assignments for multiple organizations on semi-annual cycle
  • Coordinate badging for collocated personnel to include customers and their support contractors
  • Assist in ensuring contract compliance in balancing collocation across the customer base
  • Create, analyze, evaluate metrics to track process progress
  • Assist in processing facility work order requests for Aerospace and customer requested changes within the facility
  • Assist in planning customer-hosted meetings and events in collaboration with facilities, security, and corporate communications
  • Arrange periodic Aerospace on-site facility tours for customer organizations
  • Improve and ensure effective processes/systems that provide superior organization, efficiency and industry-lead technical best practices to include digital integration
  • Provide guidance and training to customers and Aerospace program POCs in understanding, interpreting, and using corporate processes, procedures and systems
  • Proactively identifies and remediates risks, resolves questions or problems within established policies and procedures, identifies issues, decisions for escalation within the organization
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements - Project Management Specialist III:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 or more years of project management/coordination experience, familiarity with configuration and data management.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset and problem solving ability
  • Excellent Project coordination and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Proficiency with collaboration platforms such as SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and project management tools (Jira, etc
  • Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts with internal and external organizations
  • Excellent communication skills: Ability to communicate optimally and independently tackle sophisticated problems in a team setting in timely manner
  • Ability to handle sensitive and personnel-related information appropriately and support sensitive management functions
  • Ability to work independently and/or cooperatively with a team to proactively deliver innovative solutions and resolve issues with minimal direction
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

  • Three or more years of relevant experience with bachelor's degree
