Job Description:
The General Manager for Glass America has primary responsibility and accountability including providing an exceptional and successful customer experience while leading and maintaining the day-to-day operation of assigned location(s) in compliance with established policies and procedures. The General Manager plans and implements the daily operations of the location(s) to ensure that overall KPI's and production metrics are met. They are responsible to coach and empower each team member's performance and success in their individual roles. The General Manager will promote and maintain the highest quality standards of professionalism in serving all customers, and the General Manager plays a pivotal role in the success of the customer's experience by ensuring they are working in alignment with all team members. General Managers are committed to leading by example at all times.
Principle Functions and Responsibilities
  • Manage the monthly and annual operating budget of assigned location(s).
  • Track and monitor monthly sales, profit and expense objectives.
  • Deliver formal annual performance reviews and informal monthly performance reviews.
  • Monitor and maintain all A/P and A/R relating to location(s).
  • Fax, telephone or otherwise contact vendors to order parts and document conversations in the management system.
  • Follow up on parts back orders and document actions in the management system.
  • Coordinate returns and credits of parts and ensure they are picked up daily.
  • Provide training for all staff as necessary.
  • Ensure all staff wear proper safety gear, perform work per company standards and adhere to dress code.
  • Work location(s) must be opened and closed daily as per established procedures.
  • Lead and manage all personnel.
  • Monitor the individual performance of the Technicians on a regular basis, review Technician efficiency to maximize daily jobs completed.
  • Facilitate monthly staff meetings to include health and safety.
  • Attend training, information sessions and workshops recommended by the Senior Leadership Team or Human Resources.
  • Effectively communicate with staff to address customer complaints or concerns.
  • Partner with the Regional Manager to maintain proper staffing at assigned location(s), interviewing and hiring as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
  • Monitor all maintenance required for location equipment.

Education/Experience
  • Post-Secondary education or equivalent.
  • Proven leadership experience in an auto glass environment or similar role.

Required Skills/Abilities
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate a successful client experience
  • Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
