Job description

Orlando Certified Collision is looking for an experienced Collision Repair Technician / Body Shop Collision Expert to join our team in Orlando. We are committed to providing high-quality, manufacturer-approved collision repairs while putting customer safety, craftsmanship, and attention to detail first.

Our facility utilizes advanced collision-repair equipment, including CELETTE frame measuring and pulling systems, GYS advanced welders, and specialized dent-pulling equipment. We focus on OEM and certified replacement parts and repairs that follow manufacturer guidelines.

If you take pride in doing collision repairs correctly—not simply quickly—and have strong experience repairing modern vehicles, we would like to hear from you.

Position Overview

The Collision Repair Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, restoring, and preparing damaged vehicles following manufacturer repair procedures and established industry standards.

This position is ideal for a skilled collision technician who understands structural and cosmetic repairs, can accurately assess collision damage, and takes pride in returning vehicles to their pre-accident condition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect vehicles to identify collision damage, including visible and hidden structural damage.
  • Perform high-quality collision and auto body repairs on a variety of makes and models.
  • Disassemble damaged vehicles carefully to identify additional or hidden damage.
  • Repair, replace, and align damaged body panels, bumpers, fenders, doors, hoods, quarter panels, and related components.
  • Perform structural and frame repairs using appropriate measuring and repair equipment.
  • Utilize frame measuring and pulling equipment to restore vehicles to factory specifications.
  • Perform metal repair, panel replacement, dent repair, and other collision-related bodywork.
  • Perform aluminum repairs using proper tools, equipment, and manufacturer-approved procedures.
  • Properly weld, bond, rivet, and repair vehicle structures according to OEM specifications.
  • Follow manufacturer repair procedures and technical documentation when completing repairs.
  • Work with OEM and certified replacement parts while maintaining proper fit, finish, and safety standards.
  • Assist with identifying and documenting additional damage discovered during the repair process.
  • Communicate effectively with estimators, production staff, painters, parts personnel, and management.
  • Work efficiently while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
  • Inspect completed repairs to ensure proper fit, alignment, finish, and overall quality.
  • Verify that repaired components and systems function properly before the vehicle moves to the next stage of production.
  • Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Properly use and maintain hand tools, power tools, welders, measuring equipment, and other shop equipment.
  • Stay current with evolving vehicle technology, repair procedures, materials, and collision-repair techniques.
  • Take pride in producing repairs that meet or exceed customer and manufacturer expectations.

Qualifications

  • Previous professional experience as a Collision Repair Technician, Auto Body Technician, Body Technician, or Collision Specialist.
  • Strong understanding of modern collision repair procedures and auto body repair techniques.
  • Experience repairing vehicles involved in minor to major collisions.
  • Knowledge of structural, frame, body panel, and cosmetic repairs.
  • Experience with frame measuring and straightening equipment preferred.
  • Experience with aluminum repair preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand repair procedures, technical documentation, and collision estimates.
  • Strong understanding of proper vehicle disassembly and reassembly procedures.
  • Ability to identify hidden or additional collision damage.
  • Familiarity with OEM repair procedures and manufacturer specifications.
  • Ability to properly use automotive body repair tools and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a production-oriented environment without sacrificing quality.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • I-CAR training or certification.
  • ASE certification or other relevant automotive certifications.
  • Manufacturer/OEM collision repair certifications.
  • Experience with aluminum-intensive vehicles.
  • Experience with modern vehicle safety systems and ADAS-related repairs.
  • Experience with frame measuring systems such as CELETTE.
  • Experience with advanced welding equipment.
  • Experience working with electric and hybrid vehicles.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume collision repair facility.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work and understands that collision repair is about more than making a vehicle look good.

The ideal candidate understands that proper collision repair involves structural integrity, correct measurements, proper parts, manufacturer procedures, safety systems, fit and finish, and attention to every detail.

You should be someone who:

  • Takes pride in quality craftsmanship.
  • Doesn't cut corners.
  • Pays attention to the details others may overlook.
  • Can accurately diagnose collision damage.
  • Understands the importance of following manufacturer repair procedures.
  • Works well with other technicians and departments.
