We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented current college student to join our Accounting team as a part-time Accounting Assistant. This position offers hands-on accounting experience while primarily assisting with the review and reconciliation of vendor statements. Is that you? If so, we want to talk to you!

Location: Indianapolis, IN
Schedule: Part-time, at least 12 or more hours per week in the office

Responsibilities

As an Accounting Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to review and reconcile vendor statements while helping the Accounting team maintain accurate and organized financial records. By completing assigned tasks accurately and on time, you will help identify discrepancies, resolve outstanding items, and contribute to the department operating efficiently and reliably.

  • Review and reconcile vendor statements against invoices, payments, credits, and other account records.
  • Identify missing invoices, unapplied credits, duplicate charges, outstanding balances, and other discrepancies.
  • Request invoice copies, credit memos, and supporting documentation from vendors.
  • Communicate with vendors and internal team members to help resolve outstanding items.
  • Update spreadsheets and tracking logs with the status of vendor accounts and discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized vendor statements and supporting documentation.
  • Escalate unresolved or unusual discrepancies to the appropriate Accounting team member.
  • Assist the Accounting team with additional projects and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities to meet assigned deadlines.
