Position Summary
Sinclair is seeking high school instructors interested in being credentialed to teach college credit courses in their respective high schools as part of Sinclair's College Credit Plus program. High School instructors must be appropriately credentialed in the discipline they wish to teach.
Applicants must upload all required CCP documentation - including resume, transcripts, and credential verification - as a single PDF file to be considered for the position.
This is not a paid position with Sinclair College.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Plan, organize, and deliver college instruction in ways which maximize student learning
  • Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
  • Employ appropriate college-level teaching and learning strategies
  • Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student needs
  • Employ available instructional technology when appropriate, according to academic department policies
  • Maintain familiarity with College goals, mission and long-range plans

Requirements
  • Must be a current high school teacher, licensed and teaching in the state of Ohio required
  • Must have a master's degree or equivalent to meet the Higher Learning Commission requirements for the subject area
  • To teach general education courses, the candidate must have a master's degree in the content area or a master's degree with at least 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework in the content area
  • To be credentialed using equivalent experience (not having full 18 semester credit hours in the content area):
    • Candidate must have a degree, a credential, a certification or equivalent experience related to the course(s) to be taught, as determined by the Chief Academic Officer after receiving input from the department chair and division dean
    • This equivalent experience must be documented and uploaded with the other supporting documents in the application
  • Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of the field or discipline
  • Display an ability to interpret and evaluate theories in the field or discipline
  • Stay current in subject matter through professional development
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the college course and program level
