The Division of Sidewalk & Inspection Management (SIM) is responsible for maintaining the city's 12,760 miles of sidewalks and approximately 162,000 pedestrian ramps. SIM is tasked with sustaining a comprehensive inspection, pedestrian ramp and sidewalk program that ensures accessibility of pedestrian ramps, streets, and sidewalks.
The Citywide Concrete Program inspects curb and sidewalk complaints from the public, identifying damaged or missing sidewalk & curbs that are pedestrian & vehicular hazards and can cause severe flooding. Citywide Concrete Unit (CWC) supports the agency s goal to enhance, rehabilitate, and maintain the City s infrastructure by acting as the agency s primary construction unit. We employ dedicated engineers, managers, support staff, laborers and adopt cost-savings and efficiency, while maintaining the highest standards of excellence and service to safety and quality.
Under direction of the Supervisor Bricklayer, the administrative personnel will perform all clerical and office related duties necessary to manage the daily operations of the College Point facility and to support the Performance Assessment Budget Unit (PABU). The selected candidate will be required to provide data entry and administrative support during emergency events (eg: snow removal and coastal storms)
Daily Duties - Real-time updates to the daily concrete orders (including delivery location, crew, order quantities; tracking arrival and departure time of concrete trucks based on field reports and delivery tickets; assist in maintaining concrete vendor performance records in writing; tabulate reports on concrete vendor performance as needed; communicate with the concrete vendor to request order changes; review and assist in completing crew gang sheets in the COM system.
Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, and document management; preparing the daily schedule for the field operation at College Point, process and track requests related to pours, safety, saw cutting and asphalt work; handle follow up and 311 service requests; utilize internal databases (COM) for data entry and record maintenance; prepare the crew schedules, gang sheets and pre-location documentation; collect trip and gang sheets from field staff and scan/archive them daily; prepare post-operation reports for excavation and assigned prep crew
Weekly Duties - Manage Citytime (timekeeping) entries with the Supervisors; track and maintain inventory records; verify gang sheets for accuracy; submit concrete pour receipts to Fiscal and collect asphalt tickets.
Monthly Duties - Submit asphalt tickets for verification; prepare absence control reports, complete CHIPs documentation; review and clean timesheet records.
Quarterly Duties - Perform CHIPs data entry; complete IFA concrete data entry and conduct costings for Vouchers
Annual Duties - Coordinate and assist with employee evaluations and mandatory training coordination

Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
