Applicants must be able to teach in-person at the main campus in Ann Arbor, MI. Online classes are not available at this time.
Potential course assignments range from Basic Math (Arithmetic) to Differential Equations and Linear Algebra.

Washtenaw Community College (WCC) is seeking Part time Math Instructors to teach Math (MTH) credit courses. Needs may become available each semester. Upon successful submission of your application, cover letter, resume, and transcripts, you will be considered for future part-time and/or on-call teaching opportunities on a per course basis.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
โ€ข Establish and maintain environment conducive to student learning.
โ€ข Prepare for and instruct assigned course(s) through the use of appropriate learning experiences and materials which provide the opportunity to meet overall course objectives and program goals.
โ€ข Adhere to course syllabus and comply with Assessment of Student Academic Achievement.
โ€ข Evaluate student progress through day to day evaluation, written examinations and overall observation.
โ€ข Grade assignments in a meaningful way to promote continued student growth, returning graded assignments to students in a timely manner, and assigning final grades for all students, meeting or beating all institutional deadlines for completion.
โ€ข Actively support student success through guidance, advising and assisting individual students as needed.
โ€ข Participate in professional activities, which could include, but are not limited to, curriculum planning, examination development, textbook selection, program evaluation/revision and other professional planning activities.
โ€ข Participate in the Student Opinion Questionnaire (SOQ) process.
โ€ข Maintain levels of professional knowledge and expertise, including compliance training.
โ€ข Utilize technology, including AI-enabled tools and software where appropriate, to support teaching, learning, student engagement, professional responsibilities, institutional service, and other responsibilities. Use such technologies in a manner consistent with academic standards, professional ethics, confidentiality requirements, and compliance with institutional policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
โ€ข Perform other duties as assigned.
Hours/Schedule: Schedules vary according to class schedules. The terms of employment are based on college enrollment and class enrollment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
โ€ข Earned Master's degree or higher from a regionally-accredited institution in Mathematics OR master's degree with minimum of 18 graduate credits in Mathematics.
โ€ข For MTH 125X, MTH 160X, and MTH 168 ONLY Earned Master's degree or higher from a regionally-accredited institution in Mathematics or Mathematics Education OR master's degree with minimum of 18 graduate credits in Mathematics or Mathematics Education.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to use technology relevant to the discipline and faculty role, including the capacity to learn and appropriately utilize emerging AI-supported tools. Ability to evaluate the accuracy, reliability, and appropriateness of AI-generated content; maintain confidentiality where required; exercise professional and academic judgment; and uphold ethical standards in the use of technology for teaching, learning, and service.
