St. Ann's Community is currently looking for a dynamic full time Music Therapist for the Life enrichment department located on the Irondequoit campus. The primary purpose of this position would be to plan, organize and implement music therapy treatments/programs and evaluate the effectiveness of the services provided.

Job Description:
  • Assesses the strength and needs of residents
  • Develops goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the needs and functional level of the resident
  • Implements individual/group vocal and instrumental music interventions that promote positive experiences
  • Observes for behavioral changes and alters approaches to meet resident needs
  • Evaluates programs and interventions to assure efficiency and effectiveness in meeting residents
  • Provides a variety of music programs promoting but not limited to social integration, mental stimulation, sensory stimulation, creativity, physical and spiritual
  • Communicates to recreation staff information regarding students necessary to maintain continuity of treatment.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Music or Arts from a 4 year college in Music Therapy - Required
  • Board Certified Music Therapist or Licensed Creative Arts Therapist - Preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Geriatric/music therapy experience - Preferred
