Randolph-Macon College - Assistant, Associate or Full Professor Randolph-Macon College - Assistant, Associate or Full Professor

Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Engineering

Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Civil Engineering beginning Fall 2027. The successful candidate will join the College’s ABET-accredited Engineering program within the Department of Physics, Engineering, and Astrophysics.

Faculty responsibilities include teaching undergraduate engineering courses, advising students, engaging undergraduates in research and scholarship, and contributing to program and college service. The position is expected to support instruction in Engineering Mechanics and Structural Engineering, while contributing to a hands-on, project-based curriculum that emphasizes real-world problem solving.

Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a closely related field by the time of appointment, with expertise in Structural Engineering.
  • Demonstrated commitment to effective undergraduate teaching and student engagement.
  • Evidence of scholarly productivity.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching Engineering Mechanics courses.
  • Ability to offer Civil Engineering electives, particularly in Structural Engineering.
  • Professional engineering experience and experience involving undergraduate research.
  • Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and student success.
