 Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Collector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the collection of outstanding medical accounts, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining accurate records. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing processes to effectively communicate with patients and insurance companies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and follow up on outstanding medical accounts to ensure timely payment.
  • Review patient accounts for accuracy and completeness, including verifying insurance information.
  • Utilize knowledge of ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG, and medical coding to resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Communicate with patients regarding their accounts, payment options, and any disputes.
  • Work closely with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for claims processing.
  • Maintain detailed records of all collection activities and communications in the system.
