Position Overview

Collections is an important department tasked with ensuring that refunds are being sent to the appropriate place and that P40 is receiving the funds owed. Collections Agents check the status of refunds and resolve any issues we may have with late/missing refunds. Collectors are familiar with the entire accounts process since they are responsible for determining which part of the collection process was missing, or what went wrong to where the refund was not paid to P40.

Principle Responsibilities
  • Check on the status of refunds
  • Locate any checks that are missing/outstanding
  • Call/contact dealerships and administrators to make sure the checks have been sent or are in the process of being sent
  • A collections agent can be asked to collect on any of the following types of accounts, some of which might have different collections processes:
    1. GMF Accounts
    2. GME (GM Early Payoffs)
    3. Ally 1 Non-Dealer Debit
    4. Ally ARK accounts
    5. Debt File accounts
Principle Objectives and Expectations
  • Objective: Ensure that refund checks are arriving at P40 and resolve any issues with missing/delayed refunds
  • Collections Agents will be required to collect a certain % of their collections pools each month, with the percentage being set by the Collections Team Lead based on the type of accounts they are collecting on
  • Collections Agents are expected to treat the representatives with respect and courtesy while on calls, as having good relations with the warranty administrators and dealerships is essential to the company
Experience
  • Office experiences handling a high volume of accounts is preferred (but not required)
  • Being comfortable working on the phone for most of the day is necessary
  • Prior work experience on the phone is preferred (but not required)
Education
  • Minimum Requirement: High School Diploma or GED
