Priority1 seeks a skilled and experienced Collections Manager to oversee and direct all collections functions for the company. This role is responsible for leading, managing, developing, and training a team of 30+ collection professionals, including three supervisors. The Collections Manager will continuously assess performance and processes, designing and implementing improvements to enhance cash flow and reduce outstanding receivables.

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, process optimization, and customer negotiation skills, while thriving in a fast-paced, diverse, and hands-on environment.

Responsibilities
  • Direct all collections functions across the organization.
  • Lead, manage, develop, and train a team of 30+ collection professionals with three direct supervisor reports.
  • Continuously assess team performance and processes, implementing improvements to maximize efficiency and cash flow.
  • Monitor cash receipts, establish and negotiate payment plans, and evaluate accounts for referral to outside collection agencies.
  • Oversee and report on collection efforts conducted by outside agencies.
  • Deliver monthly global collection reports to company leadership.
  • Provide analysis and feedback on collection challenges arising from internal processes (e.g., sales, pricing, billing, and other transactions).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve and collect payment for disputed charges.
  • Manage collection activities including follow-ups, account negotiations, cash application tracking, and third-party referrals.
  • Lead meetings related to billing, accounts receivable, and collections policies and procedures.
  • Handle special projects as assigned by the Director of Financial Services.
Job Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with proven ability to coach and develop teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, time management, and customer service focus.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • Experience with NetSuite and High Radius strongly preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to drive decisions.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments and external partners.
  • Demonstrated success in functional management with a hands-on leadership style.
