What is a collections associate?

Collections Associates are professionals responsible for contacting individuals or businesses to collect overdue payments on accounts. They typically work for banks, credit card companies, medical offices, or other organizations that extend credit. Their duties include negotiating repayment plans, updating account information, and resolving customer disputes regarding outstanding debts. Collections Associates must have strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as a good understanding of relevant laws and regulations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a collections associate?

To thrive as a Collections Associate, you need strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with collections software, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and basic accounting tools is typically required. Excellent communication, patience, and resilience are vital soft skills for managing difficult conversations and maintaining professionalism. These abilities are crucial for effectively recovering outstanding debts while preserving customer relationships and adhering to legal and ethical standards.

How does a collections associate typically collaborate with other departments to resolve outstanding accounts?

Collections Associates often work closely with teams such as customer service, billing, and sales to address and resolve outstanding accounts. They may coordinate with the billing department to ensure invoices are accurate, or with customer service to better understand client issues that may be impacting payments. Job description

Benefits:
  • Competitive salary
  • Opportunity for advancement
  • Training & development

Rare opportunity to be THE dentist at a busy family dentistry practice!

Opportunities like this don’t come often. Don’t miss this opportunity to be the sole producing dentist in an almost $1M practice AND receive mentorship and guidance from an experienced owner dentist who practices comprehensive digital dentistry nearby.
Our practice is a 30+ years established practice. The buyer dentist has 15 years of experience and will be able to provide mentorship and guidance during this practice transition. The seller dentist is willing to provide mentorship for the first 6 months to help with the transition. You will have a unique opportunity to come into a very busy practice, make a very good income AND be supported and mentored by two experienced dentists!
There will be several upgrades early on in the transition such as: Full CEREC system, intraoral cameras and Sprintray 3D Printer system.
Start Date: January 2027

Work Days:
Mon-Thurs 8A-5P and 1-2 Fridays per month 8A-1P.
Compensation: $650-800/day guarantee for 3 months. 33% of Collections. Associate pays 33% of the lab bill ($100/crown with CEREC). After 3 months, any deficit from daily guarantee will be repaid ONLY from daily pay over $650-800/day. This way, if you are earning less than $650-800/day after 3 months, none of your pay would go towards the deficit. We are very confident you will be earning more than that after 3 months.
Insurance Situation: Participation with most PPOs. The goal would be to go out-of-network with some over time.
Mentorship Opportunity: The Buyer doctor has a lot to offer an associate that is motivated to grow both clinically, personally and who wants to learn how to help patients say yes to more complex treatment.
We believe this is a fantastic opportunity for an associate to thrive and grow!

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including dental assessments and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
  • Perform dental procedures such as extractions and prosthodontics while ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records.
  • Collaborate with dental staff to enhance patient experiences and streamline office operations.
  • Practice in line with our standard of care and treatment philosophy.
We’re looking forward to connecting and potentiating working together in the future!
