Plans, administers and facilitates activities related to the unrelated donor search process and coordinates search related activities with participating registries and donor centers.  Responsible for placing appropriate donors into workup at initiation of transplant request. Maintains and provides necessary documentation for physicians to select donor sources and provides detailed donor search information to assist with research abstracts and publications.

This role will have the opportunity to work partially at our campus and remotely.

1.0 FTE - 40 hours per week - Monday through Friday 8a-4:30p


  • Facilitates donor search, reviews results with transplant physician, ensures financial coverage, places donors into workup, communicates updates to PA/Cโ€™s, patients, families, and referring physician as necessary  
  • Uses registry formats to request screenings and/or confirmatory typing of donors  
  • Continuously reviews search results and matches to present to transplant physician  
  • Knowledgable of the policies and procedures of the BMT Program and other registries, tracks all Unrelated Donor Search activity, assist in research data for publication, facilitates implementation of new search algorithms pertaining to HLA typing and donor search selection  
  • Communicates with NMDP case managers; Obtains aphesis center/donor confirmations, infectious disease reports, and courier itineraries dealing with each individual collection  
  • Assist Intake Pre-Arrivals (Transplant), consult PA/Cโ€™s and Medical Director as needed  
  • Develops and maintains in-depth spreadsheets to track all URD search activity, and maintain in other databases  
  • Conveys a positive image; dedicated to superior customer service and satisfaction

Required:

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of MS Word, Office and Excel strongly preferred

The hourly pay range for this position is from $28.36 to $40.37 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
