Job description

Do you have the instincts of a detective and the curiosity of a journalist? We’re seeking a Collateral Research Agent who can think like a debtor hiding a high-value asset…..and then find it. Use social media, mapping tools, and public records to uncover what others miss.
Matrix Recovery Service is looking for a Collateral Research Agent (an online investigator who thrives on solving puzzles, finding hidden information, and helping our repossession agents recover high-value assets).
You won’t just search; you’ll think like someone hiding a car, boat, or RV and then outsmart them.
What You’ll Do:
- Review repossession assignments and gather critical case details.
- Develop a strategy to locate the asset by putting yourself in the debtor’s shoes.
- Use social media platforms, online public records, business databases, and satellite imagery to gather clues.
- Connect debtor profiles to friends, family, and associates to identify alternate storage locations.
- Examine photo backgrounds, event posts, and comments for location hints.
- Utilize mapping tools (Google Earth, Google Maps, etc) to verify possible storage sites.
- Build a “connection map” linking debtors to people, addresses, and assets.
- Prepare organized, evidence-backed reports for repossession agents.
What We’re Looking For:
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to see connections others overlook.
- Strong research and online search skills.
- An investigative mindset — curiosity, persistence, and strategic thinking.
- Ability to anticipate debtor behavior and think like they would when hiding an asset.
- Excellent written communication for clear, actionable reporting.
- Experience in investigations, skip tracing, collections, or research is a plus, but we will train the right person.
Tools You’ll Use:
- Social media: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn.
- Public record databases: County property, court records, DMV/boat registration.
- Professional directories and business search tools.
- Mapping amp; satellite imagery tools: Google Maps/Earth, Bing Maps, OnX Hunt, LandGlide.
- Investigative databases (access provided).
Why You’ll Love Working With Us:
- Exciting, fast-paced investigative work.
- Direct impact on asset recovery success.
- Flexible schedule and potential for remote work.
- Competitive pay with performance incentives.
- Comprehensive training in advanced investigative techniques.
Ready to join a team that finds what others can’t?
Apply now and become a Collateral Research Agent with Matrix Recovery Service.
