Job description

Immediate opening for a Commercial Loan Servicing Manager with a very successful regional financial institution.

The Commercial Loan Servicing Manager is responsible for the administration, servicing, and operational oversight of the Bank’s commercial loan portfolio, including commercial real estate, construction, C&I, SBA, and participation loans. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert for commercial loan servicing functions and is initially structured as a high-impact individual contributor position with the opportunity to build and lead a dedicated servicing team as the portfolio and operational complexity grow.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in commercial loan operations with a process-oriented mindset, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across lending, credit, compliance, and finance functions. This individual will play a key role in ensuring operational accuracy, regulatory compliance, portfolio integrity, and a high-quality borrower experience.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage day-to-day servicing activities for the commercial loan portfolio, including:
    • Loan boarding and maintenance
    • Payment processing and reconciliation
    • Rate changes and payment adjustments
    • Maturity and renewal tracking
    • Escrow and reserve administration
    • Construction draw administration
    • Collateral and covenant tracking
    • Participation loan servicing
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of loan records within the core and ancillary systems.
  • Coordinate loan funding activities and ongoing servicing requirements with lenders, credit administration, and treasury management teams.
  • Process and review loan modifications, extensions, renewals, assumptions, and payoffs.
  • Monitor exception reports and resolve servicing discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Support servicing for complex credit structures and syndicated/participation relationships.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure servicing activities comply with Bank policies, loan agreements, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
  • Maintain accurate collateral documentation, UCC filings, insurance tracking, and flood compliance records.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, loan reviews, and regulatory examinations.
  • Support compliance with servicing requirements where applicable.
  • Identify operational risks and recommend process improvements and controls.

Operational Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Serve as the primary operational resource for commercial loan servicing workflows and procedures.
  • Develop, document, and enhance servicing policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Partner with leadership to improve operational efficiency, scalability, and customer service.
  • Participate in system implementations, upgrades, and process automation initiatives.
  • Generate and analyze servicing-related reports and portfolio metrics.

Team Development & Future Leadership

  • Help establish the operational framework for a scalable commercial loan servicing function.
  • Participate in workforce planning and workflow design as the department grows.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring future servicing staff.
  • Provide recommendations regarding staffing, technology, and process enhancements to support portfolio growth.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in commercial loan servicing, loan operations, or commercial banking operations.
  • Experience servicing commercial real estate, construction, and C&I loans required.
  • Prior experience in a community bank or regional bank environment strongly preferred.
  • Supervisory or team lead experience is a huge plus
