Job description

Who we are looking for

Senior Software Engineer with solid experience in designing, developing and deploying large and complex software projects.

This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

What you will be responsible for

As Senior Software Engineer you will

  • Develop/Enhance, Troubleshoot, Deploy and Upgrade existing systems across multiple platforms

  • Work closely with different stakeholders, and communicate project requirements and statuses.

  • Analyze codes and data to troubleshoot and modifications of existing systems.

  • Ensure changes are fully tested and comply with State Street CIS standards.

  • Apply and adhere to State Street best practices, and standard operating procedures.

  • Provide SME support across existing platforms, technologies, and systems.

  • Address data, and environment issues, and performing impact analysis, root cause analysis, especially during Major Incidents

  • Participate in Agile meetings for daily updates

  • Develop and execute migration of enterprise applications and data platforms to Microsoft Azure, Databricks, AKS.

  • Design, build, and operate cloudnative services on Azure.

  • Build and maintain services using Java (Spring Boot) and React JS.

  • Migrate legacy Spark/Scala Hadoop jobs to PySpark on Azure Databricks.

  • Design and develop event-driven architectures using Kafka and Redis.

  • Developing reactive user interfaces using ReactJS, translating designs/wireframes into high quality code and building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use;

  • Building and maintaining backend, middle-tier, and web user experiences using Java, J2EE, SQL, PL/SQL, HTML5, CSS3, and other web technologies;

  • Building and maintaining applications with micro services -based architecture;

  • Setting up near real-time big data pipelines between multiple systems using Spark, Hive and Impala

  • Setting up Kafka pipelines for real time data integration; Experience in MQ

  • Selecting and integrating identified Big Data tools and frameworks required to provide requested capabilities;

  • Experience in DevOps and CI/CD pipelines using Harness. Utilizing tools, technology and various methodologies to create functional and intuitive solutions for user interfaces of desired products;

  • Leading all phases of technology development;

  • Participating in a small, experienced team on a rapid, agile development schedule;

  • Working on Collateral Management projects, understanding the business domain and continually develop business knowledge;

  • Supporting and monitoring production systems;

  • Monitoring performance and suggesting necessary infrastructure changes;

  • Setting up continuous integration jobs/pipelines using Jenkins; and

  • Tuning backend queries for better application and system performance.

Must Have:

  • Familiarity with Azure cloud, Databricks and AKS

  • Demonstrated experience in application/web servers including IBM Web Sphere, Web Logic Application Servers, JBoss or Tomcat Web Servers;

  • Proficiency in n-tier application design and development using Java, J2EE, JSP, Servlets, Struts 2.0, Spring and Oracle;

  • Demonstrated experience in Spring Boot Actuator to monitor and manage an application in a production environment;

  • Proven proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model;

  • Proven experience with Kafka, Scala and Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark;

  • Working knowledge of scheduling tools either Autosys, CRON or Quartz Job Scheduler;

  • Familiarity with SOAP and RESTful APIs;

  • Proven in-depth knowledge of object-oriented design methodology and design patterns;

  • Solid understanding of database concepts;

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of IT/Software Development Experience.

  • Solid knowledge and work experience in multi-platform enterprise application architecture, development, and maintenance.

  • Solid knowledge and work experience in Web, MQ, and Cloud development

  • Solid knowledge and work experience in debugging enterprise distributed system applications

  • Experience with Agile Development Methodologies

  • Have good communication skill, and collaborate well with different teams/stakeholders and vendors

  • Experience with State Street SDLC preferred.

  • Experience in Banking Domain preferred.

  • Excellent work ethics with ability to work independently

Work Requirement

  • In office 4 days a week

  • 9am to 5pm

Salary Range:

$120,000 - $202,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
