About the Role

oleThe Senior Field Examiner is responsible for conducting asset-based lending field examinations across a diverse client portfolio. This role includes performing new and recurring ABL field exams of varying complexity, managing collateral assessments, and delivering high-quality examination reports to lender clien

ts.This role requires an individual with deep expertise in ABL collateral analysis and strong proficiency in Asset Writer and Asset Reader software, with the ability to independently manage engagements from planning through report delive


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive asset-based lending field examinations for a variety of clients across industries, including accounts receivable, inventory, and other collateral reviews
  • Utilize Asset Writer and Asset Reader software proficiently to prepare and deliver thorough, accurate field examination reports
  • Analyze borrowing base certificates, aging reports, inventory valuations, and financial statements to assess collateral quality and lending risk
  • Identify and communicate findings, risks, and recommendations to lender clients with clarity and professionalism
  • Handle new business engagements as they arise, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to manage a broad range of examination types
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for lender clients throughout the examination process, delivering a high-quality, professional experience
  • Maintain strong working relationships with existing clients and support business development by contributing to the firm’s reputation for excellence in the ABL market
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with borrower management during on-site visits, maintaining professionalism and building cooperative working relationships
  • Prepare detailed written examination reports within established deadlines, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to firm and client standards
  • Manage multiple engagements simultaneously, prioritizing workload effectively to meet client timelines
  • Partner with firm leadership to support quality control, knowledge sharing, and process improvements across the team


Qualifications

  • Finance, Accounting, or another acceptable Business degree
  • 8–10 years of experience in asset-based lending field examination; candidates with a minimum of 5 years’ experience and strong Asset Writer/Reader proficiency
  • Proficiency in Asset Writer and Asset Reader software is required
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounts receivable, inventory, and other ABL collateral types, including borrowing base structures and eligibility criteria
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage field examinations from planning through report delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to both lender clients and borrower management
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, reliable, and ethical
  • Solid understanding of business and accounting concepts
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Willing to travel as required to conduct on-site field examinations at borrower locations
  • Experience with a variety of industries and collateral types preferred; background with other major institutional lender examinations is a plus
