GENERAL FUNCTION: Mitigate risk through original collateral tracking, maintenance, and release. Ensures electronic image capture on all incoming commercial, consumer, mortgage, and vehicle collateral items. Prompts daily third-party vendor business activities and collateral movement between key internal business partners using detailed tracking software. Works directly with customers to solve auto title maintenance issues and provides scheduled customer follow-up and direction.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Commercial collateral setup, document exception creation and clearing and request fulfillment
  • Performs secondary volume audit reviews for CFPB and Borrower in Custody Fed collateral reviews.
  • Executes New York CEMA Loan refi collateral collection, tracking and attorney communication regarding inventory and initiation of collateral reconciliation procedures.
  • Position is internal and external customer facing through direct e-mail and phone communication. Initiates communication relative to collateral set up and receipt and release.
  • Performing compliance responsibilities required in the states of NC/CO in accordance with their guidelines for the return of paid collateral documents to customers once the transaction has been completed.
  • Third-party custodial knowledge and system usage for requesting and obtaining bank held collateral with outside document custodians.
  • Performs in depth collateral verification reviews and quality checks initial collateral reviews for additional training opportunities.
  • Initiates third-party collateral long-term storage vendor request communication and coordination.
  • Responsible for research and retrieval of missing/outstanding collateral. Supports LOB titling functions.
  • Complete loan servicing activities related to vehicle portfolio.
  • Assists with collateral vendor servicing and reporting, lienholder discrepancies and name discrepancies.
  • Release of lien on all titled and cash collateral.
  • Completes collateral data collection specifically used to facilitate title maintenance on vehicle collateral titles.
  • Initiate applicable collateral system changes based on internal and external research or customer communication.
  • Prepare new and existing LOB collateral/documents for imaging and long-term offsite storage.
  • Complete account lookup to ensure the proper identification and categorization of all incoming loan collateral.
  • Operates freestanding and desktop Kodak imaging machines as necessary
  • Performs image verification procedures for all collateral received and imaged.
  • Meet and maintain LOB collateral fulfillment and tracking production and quality standards.
  • Initiate and complete monthly audits related to the image availability of collateral notes, recorded mortgages, auto loan packages, auto titles and title policies.
  • Collateral system report generation and analysis.
  • Tracking system collateral updates and data ingestion.
  • Legacy loan collateral batch dispositioning, processing, and breakdown.
  • Incoming collateral channel control and issue root cause analysis.
  • Update and maintain collateral tracking reports for all Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR) and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) loans purchased by the bank.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 to 3 years collateral related experience desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Keyboard proficiency is required.
  • Basic knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Knowledge of collateral tracking and image software a plus.
