Job Summary:

Are you an organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys supporting a team and helping things run smoothly? Bowers Accountants + Advisors is seeking an Administrative Specialist to join our collaborative administrative team in Ithaca, NY.

In this role, you will be an important part of the day-to-day operations of our growing public accounting firm, providing administrative support to firm leadership, professional staff, and clients. This position offers the opportunity to develop new skills, work alongside experienced professionals, and contribute to a team-oriented environment where your work makes a meaningful impact.

This is primarily an in-office position that offers flexibility and the opportunity to work in a professional, supportive environment. Additional evening and occasional weekend hours may be required during our busy season (January through April 15). This position offers opportunities to expand responsibilities and grow within our administrative teams!

Salary: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide administrative support to firm leadership and professional staff

• Format financial statements and supporting documentation for client delivery and review

• Process tax returns and assist with related administrative workflows

• Manage requests through the firm's administrative ticketing system

• Assist with document management, organization, and internal communications

• Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives across the firm

• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling client and financial information

• Welcome clients, answer incoming calls, and assist with client inquiries

• Coordinate and distribute client documents and correspondence

• Collaborate with administrative team members to ensure efficient office operations

What We're Looking For

• Associate degree preferred or equivalent of professional work experience

• Two or more years of administrative experience in a professional office environment

• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
