Job Title – Cold Storage Forklift Operator
Food Distribution & Cold Chain Warehouse
Company Location – Fullerton, CA
Fully On-site, No Remote
Contract-to-hire
Pay $21-23hr.
Schedule: 40 hours/ week, Monday-Friday w/ OT
Flexibility to work varying hours, including nights may be required, as necessary.
Job Summary of the Cold Storage Forklift Operator position
Integr8staff seeks a Cold Storage Forklift Operator to safely move, load, unload, receive, process, and stack temperature-controlled goods in a cold room refrigerated warehouse. The operator follows strict food safety and OSHA standards while on duty.
Responsibilities of the Cold Storage Forklift Operator position
Operate forklifts and pallet jacks in refrigerated cold room warehouse environment to unload, receive, process, store, and load out refrigerated and non-refrigerated goods.
Unload perishable goods from trucks and trailers while ensuring proper securing, temperature control, and compliance with food handling regulations.
Document any shortages, damage, or quality issues on the bills of lading and in Truck Mate.
Store perishable orders in the correct temperature-controlled environment (Chilled, Frozen, and Dry) in the precise cargo location.
Load perishable and non-perishable goods into refrigerated ocean containers safely and securely for ocean transport to Hawaii. Scanning every label with the handheld scanner.
Stack and sort perishable orders as arranged by the clients onto separate pallets to ship to specific customer locations.
Inspect and maintain equipment before shifts, including checking for refrigeration related hazards, battery levels, and reporting defects.
Control inventory by scanning, labeling, and recording movements in Truck Mate utilizing the handheld scanners; Report shortages, damage, or quality issues.
Adhere to safety protocols for cold chain operations, including PPE use, operate the equipment at safe speeds, check for clear visibility before proceeding, and report hazards as they are encountered.
Support cross functional teams in dock operations, assisting with unloading, receiving, processing, and loading dry orders under the direction of the Dry operations supervisor.
Requirements of the Cold Storage Forklift Operator position
Valid forklift operator license.
Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
Physical stamina for lifting, stacking, and working in cold room conditions.
Ability to follow precise operational and sanitation procedures.
Food safety knowledge (HACCP & Sanitation standards) and compliance with FDA/OSHA food handling rules.
Ability to work in low temperature (+32 degrees) environment and handle temperature sensitive products without compromising quality.
Must pass a Background Check and Drug Screen - Required
