GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Tool Design Engineer will be responsible for leading tooling design efforts during new job development, as well as maintaining and updating existing tooling drawings. This position is a customer interactive and requires a candidate that is dependable, punctual, accountable, and respectful.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Evaluate customer requests and examine technical drawings to resolve design issues, assure product quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers as needed.
  • Stay current with new software and manufacturing processes.
  • Research new tooling concepts as required.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities in existing tooling.
  • Work between internal departments to improve efficiency of manufacturing operations.
  • Perform any other task or duty as requested / required.
 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate technical information to customers and employees.
  • Good program and file management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in Microsoft Platform Tools (Word, Excel, Teams)
  • PM Tool Processing knowledge
  • Competence in time and project management skills

TRAVEL:
Some travel may be required as necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in PM tooling, 2D CAD, and 3D CAD is required.
  • Experience in MasterCAM and Solidworks is preferred.
  • Shape to CAD experience.
  • FEA, structural analysis experience.
  • Machining experience is preferred.
  • PM Tool Processing experience is preferred.
