Job Description

PROGRESSIVE FORMING ENGINEER – TUCSON, ARIZONA

 

WEBCO HR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer/Manager for one of our clients located in Tucson, Arizona.

SUMMARY:

Responsible for the design, prototyping and debugging of blind fastener cold forming progressive header tooling. Supports testing, qualification and manufacturing implementation of new designs or derivatives of existing designs. Supports new product development to assure manufacturability. Support new machine selection development and industrialization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Development of tooling design concepts in response to requirements defined by product engineering and manufacturing and concept layouts on SolidWorks.

· Completes dimensional, metallurgical and functional analysis to predict tooling function and life.

· Detail design of tooling components and assemblies.

· Definition of manufacturing methods and tooling.

· Debugging of prototype or pre-production tooling.

· Support of new product production implementation.

· Coordination with tooling vendor’s materials, fabrication and design issues.

· Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement on a daily basis

by demonstrated performance and results.

· Take the initiative to resolve tooling issues without supervision.

· Facilitates the resolution of tooling issues with production teams.

· Helps to ensure that quality and standards for the department are adhered to and maintained.

· Assumes other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as required. Adheres to the company's EH&S, Quality, Continuous Improvements and other Company Policies.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical Engineering or other applicable focus or related work experience.

· Minimum of 5 years' experience in metal working industry.

· Record of achievement in tooling design and testing.

· Must have experience in high precision metal forming, product and process failure analysis.

· Must have a demonstrated record of achievement in problem solving.

· Must be skilled in use of personal computers with emphasis on analytical and design software.

· Proficient in SolidWorks and various design drafting programs.

· Proficiency in Deform manufacturing CAE software a plus.

· Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. Persons status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refuge.

COMPENSATION:

· $83,000 to $120,000 annually.
