Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Production Shift Supervisor is capable of operating a group of vial machines forming necks, bottoms, and finishes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Cleans plugs, dies, and tooling bars during shift to maintain quality and production as required
  • Continuously checking vials for visual defects following Quality Inspection Plan, MG-QIP-01 (serum vials) or MG-QIP-02 (AOV’s)
  • Make appropriate adjustment to tooling heads for process control (dimensional, cosmetic)
  • Re-tip bottom chucks
  • Monitors production line performance by checking hot end losses on lehr belt, determining the source of loss and notify appropriate personnel
  • Monitor process control using Infinity software to produce acceptable Cp/Cpk values as well as monitoring cold end cosmetic vision reject percentages
  • Ensure tube loader remains properly loaded
  • Maintains machine cleanliness and related equipment of oil, glass, and foreign material per the standard operating procedure, SOP, MG-KV-25-03 “Hot End Operator Cleaning”
  • Maintains floor and general area around machines in a clean and neat manner in accordance with Morganton housekeeping and 5S standards
  • Maintains all necessary quality check sheet records. Records required information and communicates issues with on-coming personnel during shift overlap
  • Documents all required quality records for article number being manufactured
  • Inspects tubing for quality and advises Foreman of any problems
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Cooperates with Manufacturing Manager, Production Shift Supervisor, Hot End Specialist, Lead Machine Operator and Maintenance
Performs preventative maintenance as scheduled and/or required

· Demonstrates behavior that meets Good Manufacturing Practices, Safety and 5S standards

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· High School Diploma or Equivalent

FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
