Job description

About the Role
We are looking for a friendly, motivated, and resilient Appointment Setter to join our growing life insurance agency.
Your primary responsibility will be connecting with prospective clients by phone, asking a few qualifying questions, identifying their needs, and scheduling appointments with one of our licensed insurance agents.
You will work with a combination of warm leads and cold leads. Some people will be interested and happy to speak with you, while others may not answer, may tell you they're not interested, or may have objections. Success in this position requires someone who can remain positive, professional, and persistent even after hearing "no" throughout the day.
This is more than just a calling position. We are looking for someone who wants to grow with our agency and build a career in the insurance industry. For the right person, there will be opportunities for increased responsibility and advancement. We will also support team members who are interested in pursuing their life insurance license and eventually becoming a licensed insurance agent.

Responsibilities
  • Make outbound calls to warm and cold prospective clients
  • Engage prospects in friendly, professional conversations
  • Ask qualifying questions to better understand each prospect's situation and insurance needs
  • Explain the purpose and value of meeting with one of our licensed agents
  • Schedule qualified appointments for the sales team
  • Follow up with prospects who do not initially answer or are not ready to schedule
  • Professionally overcome common objections such as "I'm not interested," "I already have insurance," or "I don't have time"
  • Accurately document conversations, appointments, and follow-up activities in our CRM
  • Meet individual and team goals for calls, conversations, and appointments
  • Communicate closely with agents regarding scheduled appointments and prospect information
  • Participate in coaching, training, role-playing, and team meetings
  • Continually improve communication, objection-handling, and appointment-setting skills
What We're Looking For
Resilience is extremely important in this position. Outbound calling involves rejection. Many prospects will not answer the phone, and some will decline to speak with you. The right person understands that this is part of the job and can move confidently to the next call without allowing rejection to affect their attitude.
Our ideal candidate is:
  • Friendly, positive, and comfortable talking with new people
  • Resilient and able to handle frequent rejection
  • Persistent without being overly aggressive or pushy
  • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls
  • Able to listen carefully and ask good questions
  • Confident handling objections and thinking on their feet
  • Dependable and consistent
  • Coachable and willing to improve
  • Goal-oriented and motivated by measurable results
  • Organized and able to manage follow-up activities
  • A genuine team player who wants both themselves and their coworkers to succeed
  • Someone who genuinely cares about helping clients protect themselves and their families
  • Interested in personal growth and potentially building a long-term career in insurance
Experience
Previous experience in appointment setting, outbound calling, customer service, telemarketing, insurance, or sales is helpful but not required for the right candidate.
We value attitude, work ethic, resilience, communication skills, and coachability. We can teach our systems and processes to someone who is willing to learn and put in the effort.
Career Growth
We want this position to be an opportunity to build a career—not simply make phone calls.
Team members who demonstrate strong performance, reliability, leadership, and a commitment to our clients will have opportunities to take on additional responsibilities within the agency.
For individuals interested in becoming licensed, we will support your path toward obtaining your life insurance license and developing the skills needed to become a successful licensed insurance agent.

Potential career path:
Appointment Setter → Senior Appointment Setter → Licensed Insurance Agent → Leadership / Management Opportunities

Our Culture
We believe that success comes from taking care of both our clients and each other.
We want people who celebrate their teammates' successes, step in when someone needs help, accept coaching, contribute to a positive environment, and understand that every person on the team plays an important role.
Most importantly, we want people who genuinely care. Life insurance is about helping families prepare for some of life's most difficult moments. Even though your initial role is scheduling appointments, the conversations you start can ultimately help a family become financially protected.
If you're resilient, personable, competitive, caring, and looking for an opportunity where your hard work can lead to a long-term career, we'd like to hear from you.
