ALTA Assistant Program CoordinatorPosition Title:Immediate Supervisor Title:COL ClassificationStatus:ALTA Assistant Program CoordinatorALTA Program CoordinatorAnnual, part-time, hourlyOpen Position Overview:The ALTA Assistant Program Coordinator is an integral component of the delivery of Center of Life's (COLs) ALTA (Aspiring Leaders in Teen Academy) Program. The ALTA Assistant Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the management and quality assurance of all aspects of programming, including but not limited to supporting the Program Coordinator in the development of a high-quality program; contributing to program curriculum, lesson, and activity planning; and development of strong relationships with students, family, schools, work experience partners, and community partners. The position supports compliance with delivery of services to the educational ethical, and legal standards, as well as the core values and mission of Center of Life. Primary Goals, Duties, and Responsibilities:AdministrativeSupport Program Coordinator in all aspects of quality of care, safety, and operation of the ALTA studentsArrive on-time and prepared to work while bringing high energy to interact with students.Take the lead on New Hire Paperwork for ALTA students, including assisting them with their clearances, iSolved, work permits, any paper forms needed, etc.Organize and maintain files for all students, including paperwork requiring parent/guardian signaturesUnderstand and enthusiastically instruct participating students in the curriculum and activities as neededMaintain detailed notes for one-on-one supervisory meetings with students and contribute to Apricot Case Notes as neededAssist students with homework completionWork with students to determine individual areas of interest/future pursuitsServe as a leader throughout programming, setting a positive example for studentsBe available and able to work during afterschool time during the school year (1-7:30 PM Monday – Thursday, September – May) and daylight hours during summer campCommunicate with Program Coordinator regarding ordering of any and all activity materials in a timely mannerSupervise meal times and any other time designated for socializingSupervise students during off-site excursions (e.g. enrichment opportunities, work experience visits, school tours, etc.)Ensure the safety and well-being of all students throughout the duration of the programBe willing and able to share any concerns with Program Coordinator IMMEDIATELYOversee food provision to students in keeping with Food Bank/DHS administration guidelinesContribute to verbal and written evaluations and communications as requested Program Content and DevelopmentAssist the Program Coordinator with the implementation of scheduled activities, events, and lesson plans during program hoursUnderstand and enthusiastically instruct participating students in the age-appropriate curricula/activities that addresses academic, social/emotional, and development gaps in student progress, including:Academic subjects, Financial Literacy, Work Experiences, Community College & University Experiences/Visits, EntrepreneurshipProvide feedback for lessons/activities to Program CoordinatorProduce lesson plans in keeping with approved curriculumCollaborate with Program Coordinator to ensure that the learning environment of the room is as impactful to the students as possibleSpecifically support student engagement during enrichment sessions, vibe sessions, and anything as needed.Relationship BuildingBe willing and able to work with all students in grades 8-12Assist Program Coordinator in communications with parents of studentsBe a positive role model for all students throughout the duration of programming, including all meetings and field tripsLead by example by displaying a positive, enthusiastic, kind, caring, and supportive attitude and behavior at all times towards all children, parents, and peersBe aware of each student's diverse needsParticipate in all enrichment activities/community partnership activities/visits when attending to manage student behavior and maintain position as student role modelDisplay a positive and enthusiastic conduct towards the delivery of ALTA while also encouraging students to participate in all activitiesBuild strong, healthy relationships with students that inspire academic performance and community connectedness while maintaining boundaries appropriate for working with teenagersParticipate with all staff in maintaining the cleanliness and order of the teaching space General COL ExpectationsFoster positive and healthy relationships with students, families, and staff; model excellent interpersonal relationship skillsMaintain regular meetings with assigned students, including one-on-one supervisory meetingsParticipate as an active member of Center of Life staffAdhere to all of Center of Life's policies and proceduresAttend all COL staff meetings, retreats, trainings, and mandatory eventsFoster a collaborative and supportive team environmentIllustrate a commitment to the core values and mission of COL through work output QualificationsMust be 18 years or olderMust have High School diploma or GED equivalentMust have a valid PA State Driver's licenseMust obtain State, Child Abuse, FBI Fingerprint clearances, NSOR, mandated reporter trainingMust possess the ability to effectively communicate with kids ages 14-21 while also providing necessary instruction to studentsPreferred Qualifications1-2 years of experience working in Education or related field or in a role that has direct contact with kids aged 14-21Must be able to provide adequate help to multiple students at one timeMust possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of studentsMust possess knowledge and skill in academic areas, including but not limited to math and reading
