Artazn - Annealing/Burnish Operator
Artazn has secured new business opportunities and is excited to offer direct hiring opportunities for production operators. To qualify, you must certify to operate a forklift, be willing to work 8 or 12-hour shifts, evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Job Purpose/Scope:
Operate or tend machines that heat treat/stress relief materials by radiant or induction heat and/or burnish to remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, buff, hone, or polish.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
  1. Position raw materials into machines using automated lifting/dumping systems
  2. Remove parts from machines after specified times and air dry or cool parts
  3. Record times that parts are removed from machines to document that objects have attained specified temperatures for specified times, as well as, other required operational or production data
  4. Move raw and finished materials by forklift into inventory
  5. Use ERP system to release and enter product from/to inventory
  6. Perform operator care duties such as changing media or cleaning machines per work instructions
  7. Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Secondary Functions
Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
    • Knowledge

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience

One to three months related industrial experience preferably in a heavy manufacturing environment.
    • Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one- on-one and small group situations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs preferred.
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
