Job description

As a QA Engineer - Device Testing, you will make an impact by ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of digital experiences across a wide range of consumer devices and emerging platforms. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with product managers, developers, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
In This Role, You Will:
• Validate applications across devices, perform functional, regression, system, integration, end-to-end (E2E), exploratory, compatibility, and user acceptance testing.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases while ensuring requirements traceability.
• Manage defects through the complete lifecycle using tools such as Jira, TestRail, Confluence, and related platforms.
• Troubleshoot device, network, firmware, and application issues using debugging and analysis tools including ADB, Android Studio, Charles Proxy, Chrome DevTools, and log analysis utilities.
• Analyze test metrics, defect trends, and quality reporting using Power BI and other reporting tools.
• Collaborate within Agile teams, participating in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and quality strategy discussions.
• Leverage AI-assisted quality engineering practices for test optimization, defect pattern analysis, and test case generation.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in device testing across mobile, connected TV, streaming, gaming, or consumer electronic platforms.
• Strong understanding of software testing concepts, methodologies, and defect management processes.
• Experience with manual testing, functional testing, regression testing, system testing, integration testing, and UAT.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting devices, network configurations, connectivity issues, and platform-specific defects.
• Experience using Jira, TestRail, Confluence, or similar test management and collaboration tools.
• Proficiency with debugging tools.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, SDLC, STLC, Scrum, and Kanban frameworks.
• Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
These Will Help You Stand Out
• Knowledge of Smart TV, streaming media, set-top box, Chromecast, Fire TV, or gaming console platforms.
• Experience validating firmware releases and device compatibility scenarios.
• Familiarity with Power BI, test metrics reporting, and defect trend analysis.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $53,477- $92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
