Psychologist – Children's Specialized Hospital, RWJBarnabas Health

This outpatient Psychologist role offers the opportunity to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing comprehensive behavioral health services for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. As a Psychologist, you will provide psychological assessment, diagnostic evaluation, therapeutic intervention, and consultation while partnering with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams to promote emotional well-being, resilience, and healthy development. A typical day for a Psychologist may include:

• Conducting comprehensive psychodiagnostic evaluations and identifying the psychosocial needs of pediatric patients and their families
• Providing individual, family, and group psychotherapy tailored to each patient's developmental, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Performing cognitive and neuropsychological assessments to evaluate cognitive functioning and guide individualized treatment planning
• Developing realistic, patient-centered goals focused on treatment adherence, pain management, coping with medical conditions, behavioral health concerns, and overall emotional well-being
• Collaborating with physicians, therapists, nurses, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive, family-centered care
• Participating in interdisciplinary case conferences and providing behavioral health consultation to clinical team members as needed
• Supporting patients and families through evidence-based therapeutic interventions while collaborating with occupational, physical, speech, and recreational therapy teams
• Participating in program development, research initiatives, staff education, and community outreach opportunities
• Supervising fellows, interns, externs, and other trainees as appropriate while supporting continued professional development
• Maintaining timely documentation, communicating findings with sensitivity and professionalism, and meeting established productivity expectations

To be considered for this Psychologist opportunity:

• You have earned a PhD, PsyD, or EdD and possess at least one year of related clinical experience.
• You hold a current New Jersey Psychologist license and a valid driver's license.
• Current American Heart Association BLS Provider certification is required.
• Experience with cognitive behavioral interventions and working with children and adolescents on the autism spectrum is preferred.
• The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent clinical judgment, strong communication and consultation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with children, adolescents, young adults, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Flexibility in work hours may be required.
