Coffee Roaster Assistant information

What does a coffee roaster assistant do?

A Coffee Roaster Assistant supports the main coffee roaster in preparing and roasting coffee beans. Their responsibilities typically include weighing and loading green coffee beans, monitoring the roasting process, maintaining equipment, and packaging roasted beans. They may also help with quality control by checking for consistency and taste. This role is essential for ensuring the coffee produced meets the desired standards and helps the roastery operate efficiently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a coffee roaster assistant?

To thrive as a Coffee Roaster Assistant, you need a basic understanding of coffee beans, roasting techniques, quality control, and often a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with roasting equipment, grinders, and inventory management software is typically required.
