The Coffee Shop Manager will oversee a small team of 3 to10 employees, ensuring smooth daily operations while maintaining high standards of customer service and product quality. This role requires strong leadership to motivate staff and manage scheduling, as well as operational oversight to manage inventory and point-of-sale systems effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily coffee shop operations to ensure efficiency and quality
  • Oversee and coordinate scheduling for a small team of employees
  • Deliver excellent customer service and resolve issues promptly
  • Train and mentor staff to promote teamwork and high performance
  • Handle inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
  • Operate and troubleshoot POS systems during transactions

We are looking for a passionate, high-energy Barista & Team Member to join our tight-knit crew. As a small, independent coffee shop, our team members do a little bit of everything—from crafting exceptional espresso drinks to creating a welcoming environment for our regulars. If you love coffee, thrive in a bustling neighborhood environment, and take pride in exceptional hospitality, we want to meet you!

Key Responsibilities
Craft Quality Beverages: Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso, pour-overs, teas, and seasonal specialties, adhering to our quality standards and recipes.

Deliver Great Hospitality: Welcome guests warmly, take accurate orders, answer questions about our menu (including pastry and food options), and ensure every customer leaves with a smile.
Maintain Shop Cleanliness: Keep the espresso bar, customer seating area, and restrooms clean, sanitized, and organized throughout the shift. Wash dishes and prep materials as needed.
Point of Sale (POS) & Cash Handling: Efficiently operate the register, process payments accurately, and handle cash drops according to shop policy.
Restock & Inventory: Keep a close eye on inventory, restocking milk, coffee beans, pastries, and paper goods. Note when supplies are running low.
Food Prep: Prepare and elegantly present light food items, pastries, or grab-and-go snacks following local health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Previous experience in specialty coffee or a fast-paced food service/retail environment is preferred, but a great attitude and willingness to learn are what matter most.
Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. You should genuinely enjoy interacting with people.
Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and available to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, move quickly, and lift/carry up to 30 lbs (like milk crates or bags of coffee).
Detail-Oriented: Ability to multitask effectively while keeping drink quality and customer service standards high during peak morning rushes.
