What is a coffee manager?

Coffee managers oversee the daily operations of coffee shops or cafes, ensuring quality service, product consistency, and customer satisfaction. Their responsibilities include managing staff, handling inventory, setting schedules, and maintaining facility standards. They may also be involved in hiring, training, and developing strategies to increase sales and profitability. A coffee manager often works closely with baristas and other team members to create a positive work environment and uphold the business's brand and quality standards.

To thrive as a Coffee Manager, you need expertise in coffee preparation, inventory management, and team leadership, often supported by experience in food service or hospitality. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, scheduling software, and health and safety regulations is typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and customer service orientation help you create a positive environment for both staff and customers.
