Lady and the Mug is a specialty coffee shop using coffee as an excuse to do good. We serve Coffee, Espresso Drinks, Non-Coffee Drinks, Baked Goods, and More. All our food is hand-made and organic!

We are looking for a competent Assistant Manager to implement our standard operating procedures and maintain day-to-day operations.

Job Descriptions:

Your main job is to ensure the shop is running in line with our policies and procedures. The right candidate has the people, time management, and problem-solving skills required to ensure customer service and product standards are kept. You will also be working shifts as a barista.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Support the lady and the mug Owner & the team with new training Baristas, their success, and the success of the business depends on your ability to lead.
  • Manage daily store functions.
  • Ensure employees clock in/out correctly and follow assigned schedules.
  • Oversee employees and their daily shift responsibilities.
  • Ensures baristas are trained and developed in drinks & inventory knowledge.
  • Must be able to perform all duties of a Barista.
  • Perform inventory counts and report issues to the Owner/Manager.
  • Always maintain a clean, and tidy workspace; Must lead in the example.
  • Strive & grow sales; Generate new opportunities for store promotions.
  • Manage daily store sales activities.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines.
  • Build positive and lasting customer relationships, Grow the Lady and the Mug Coffee brand by providing each customer with a great experience.
  • Be friendly and upbeat.
  • Be committed to great customer service. 
  • Resolve any customer and store issues in a 

          professional and timely manner.

 

 

Qualification & Skills:

  • Prior coffee shop experience is not required.
  • Ability to work full time (the work regularly demands more than 40 hours per week) including variable hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage store operations independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple situations simultaneously and ensure that established service levels are achieved at all times
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of customer service techniques and supervisory practices and procedures.
  • Organization and planning skills; Strong problem-solving skills; Team-building skills.
  • Ability to coach and mentor others/plan and prioritize workload/handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to be-on-call and start a ground-up operation.
  • Familiar with Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive, POS Systems, Slacks, Trello.
