This role contributes to Starbucks success by leading the analysis and planning of global coffee and tea initiatives. Focusing on key supply, logistical and manufacturing opportunities, this partner will partner with global coffee & tea teams as well as cross-functional global supply chain teams to build hypotheses, drive analytics, run scenarios and define business solutions to gain alignment of key cross-functional stakeholders. This role will also steward deployment of key opportunities connecting into the business casing and feasibility.

  • Lead ideation, hypothesis development and data analytics initiatives for global coffee & tea supply and manufacturing opportunities
  • Support business decision-making processes and drive strategic growth objectives, including scenario planning and business casing of key alternatives
  • Utilize advanced data analysis techniques to extract actionable insights from complex datasets, enabling informed decision-making at all levels of the organization
  • Partner closely with cross-functional (sourcing & trading, planning, transportation, green coffee operations and key coffee & tea suppliers) stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop analytics solutions that address key challenges and opportunities
  • Develop predictive models and forecasting to anticipate future trends and outcomes, supporting long-term planning and resource allocation for global coffee & tea process and logistical opportunities.
  • Publish timely business metric reports for the global coffee & tea business
  • Develop & deliver compelling Global Coffee & Sustainability stakeholder communications at the global, executive level (high-fidelity visual and written communications)
  • Define and shape business questions and translate them into actionable analytical questions; Immerse with business partners to understand context and initiatives; serve as primary analytic resource in discussions to define and shape business questions
  • Drive the engagement, development, and performance of all members of their team
  • Create and foster an environment that has a bias for innovation and action

We'd love to hear from people with:
  • BA or BS with concentration in quantitative discipline (Stats, Math, Comp Sci, Engineering, Econ, Planning, or similar) or equivalent experience
  • Experience within data science or similar discipline (4+ years)
  • Highly skilled and experienced in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Advanced skills in data visualization technology (Tableau and Power BI)
  • Project and/or program management experience
  • Experienced working in or supporting supply-chain, manufacturing or similar functions
  • Exposure and business-applicable experience in several Modeling & Machine Learning Techniques (regression, tree models, survival analysis, cluster analysis, forecasting, anomaly detection, association rules, etc.)
  • Exposure and business-applicable experience in several data ETL (Oracle, SQL)
  • Big data processing techniques, preferred.
