Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Welcomes guests by determining their coffee interests and needs.
• Educate guests by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu, answering questions.
• Sells coffee and coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines; demonstrating how brewing equipment operates.
• Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso lungo, caffe latte, and cappuccino.
• Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar.
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
• Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar.
• Enhances coffee shop reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Operates the POS (Point of Sale) for half of shift, 4 hours minimally.
• Performs daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks.
• Assist with monthly breakdown of store for deep cleaning
• Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Consistently exhibits courteous, respectful, and appropriate communications and presents information in a concise and understandable format.
• Contributes to a positive work environment, fosters collaboration and provides a tangible contribution.
• Meet requirements of regular attendance to effectively complete job responsibilities in a timely manner.
• Ability of simple reading, writing, math, and task completion skills are required.
• Must have the following skills: compiling, coordination, following instructions, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making.
• Flexible working all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
• Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• Previous barista experience preferred or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• While performing the duties of this job, the team member is constantly standing, frequently walking, reaching overhead, bending over, crouching, kneeling and balancing during the duration of their shift.
• Must be able to push/pull up to 50lbs occasionally.
• The team members will frequently have repetitive use of both hands and occasional light and firm/strong grasping motions as well as finger dexterity.
• Constant use of vision abilities is required including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
