Currently the team is working remotely, however they are required to be in the Stafford office twice a month.
We are providing focused agile software development and maintenance for CODIS, a mission-critical application for the FBI. Today, CODIS is a client server application developed using Microsoft .NET that supports a database repository of DNA profiles from individuals, unsolved crime scene evidence, and missing persons. CODIS software allows local, state, and national laboratories to compare DNA profiles electronically, thereby linking serial crimes to each other and identifying suspects by matching DNA profiles from crime scenes to individuals' profiles. Additionally, the CODIS software is used to assist with the identification of unidentified human remains, missing persons and disaster victims.
The Cloud Developer will support the DMSS program by working within an Agile, cross-functional team to design, develop, test, and deploy a new distributed application using C# .NET 5.0, Blazor, SQL Server, containers, Kubernetes, and RESTful web APIs. A Developer on the team works collaboratively with other team members to solve problems, test code, and develop and maintain the Azure DevOps code pipeline. They will provide feedback for continuous process improvement and participate in code reviews to help to maintain a high-quality codebase throughout the project lifecycle. A self-starter who needs minimal supervision, is curious about software, and comes with a team-first approach to the position is highly desired.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and develop testable code using C#, HTML, Blazor, and Entity Framework
  • Develop and maintain Unit and integration tests
  • Actively participate in Agile sprint planning and retrospectives
  • Participate as a team member in sprint demonstrations and presentations to product stakeholders

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • MUST HOLD ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE
  • Able to work across services, able to identify potential challenges, design and communicate solutions
  • At least 5 years software development experience, preferably with C# and .NET
  • Developing unit tests with NUnit, xUnit, or other frameworks
  • Relational database design and development experience, preferably using SQL Server
  • Experience developing web-based applications, including use of HTML and CSS
  • Experience developing or consuming services and RESTful APIs
  • Experience working with an agile team using SCRUM, XP, Kanban, or other Lean development approaches
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub
  • Experience developing component-based frameworks such as Blazor, Angular, or React
  • Experience working with AWS or Azure services and cloud technologies
  • Experience of DevOps techniques and approaches to software development
  • Experience of Docker and containers
  • Experience of Kubernetes or other container orchestration technology
  • Experience of Behavior Driven Development (BDD) or Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Desire to work in a collaborative and team-focused environment
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and solid troubleshooting ability
  • Must be AWS or Azure Certified.
