Job description

Software Developer

Follows company software development lifecycle to design, code, configure, test, debug, and document system and application programs. Assists in preparing technical design specifications based on functional requirements and analysis documents. Reviews functional requirements, analysis and design documents and provides feedback. Participates in architecture, design and code reviews. Develops and maintains operational and system level documentation. Roles involving code development must receive secure code training each calendar year as required by the US Department Of Agriculture Risk Management Agency, the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, the New York Department Of Financial Services CyberSecurity Regulation, the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council’s IT Examination Handbook, and best practices defined by the Center for Internet Security and the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Such training should be based on an established industry guidelines such as the OWASP Secure Coding Guidelines or cover similar content.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience developing with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, designing, developing, and managing MuleSoft APIs and integrations for enterprise systems, deploying MuleSoft applications to production environments, and writing scripts to manage/move/schedule files in accordance with MuleSoft integration.
  • Implement integration solutions to connect various enterprise systems and applications, ensuring seamless data flow and process automation.
  • Utilize GitLab for version control and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate the deployment of MuleSoft applications to production environments.
  • Identify and resolve integration issues, optimize performance, and ensure the reliability and scalability of MuleSoft solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and document integration processes and solutions.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in all MuleSoft integrations and deployments.
  • Minimum 7 or more years of experience working in a medium or large operating environment supporting MuleSoft.
  • Minimum 4 years of SQL experience (ability to develop, modify, troubleshoot, and optimize complex queries and stored procedures).
  • Deep understanding of relational/dimensional data modeling and data mapping design, integration, migration, and warehousing.
  • Design and implementation of integration solutions with effective design and optimized performance, integration development with industry-standard recommendations for job recovery, failover, logging, and alerting mechanisms.
  • Preferred development background with Java, J2EE, database building, SQL scripting, and management: DB2, SQL, PL/SQL, JDBC, mapping, and workflow tools.
  • Some experience with MuleSoft Cloudhub SaaS solution is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the banking and insurance industry preferred.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • IBM Integration Designer: Proficiency in using IBM Integration Designer to create integration logic for invoking and exposing services.
  • Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA): Strong understanding of SOA principles and the ability to design and implement SOA-based solutions.
  • Business Process Execution Language (BPEL): Experience in developing BPEL processes using the business process editor in IBM Integration Designer.
  • Data Transformation: Skills in defining business objects and creating maps to transform data between different formats.
  • Eclipse-Based Development: Familiarity with the Eclipse development environment, as IBM Integration Designer is an Eclipse-based tool.
  • Advanced Development: Ability to perform advanced development tasks such as adding Java code, using visual snippets, setting qualifiers, and generating documentation.
  • Testing Modules: Experience in unit testing and component testing using the integration test client and test suite editor.
  • Build Management: Knowledge of managing builds using the Build Activities view to select specific build activities during automatic or manual builds.
  • Module Deployment: Understanding of editing module deployment properties and managing deployment descriptor files.
  • Minimum 5 or more years of experience working in a medium or large operating environment supporting IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW) and BPM applications.
  • Minimum 4 years of SQL experience (ability to develop, modify, troubleshoot and optimize complex queries and stored procedures).
  • Deep understanding of relational/dimensional data modeling and data mapping design, integration, migration and warehousing.
  • Design and Implementation of ETL solutions with effective design and optimized performance, ETL Development with industry standard recommendations for jobs recovery, fail over, logging, alerting mechanisms.
  • Preferred development background with Java, J2EE, Database building, SQL scripting and Management: DB2, SQL, PL/SQL, JDBC, Mapping and Workflow Tools.
  • Nice to have: experience developing with MuleSoft.
